POTD | At the Louvre. We love Winged Victory.

I’m dripping these vacation photos out to you aren’t I? It’s mostly because I’ve been too busy to look at my own photos since we’ve been travelling and working like crazy since June.

From the Louvre – I am a BIG fan of winged victory. It is at the top of this amazing, dramatic marble staircase near one of the entrances to the ‘Mona Lisa Wing’ aka The Richelieu. The stairs have been worm smooth in some places and have their own history. I’d be willing to bet that the stairs alone are older than our country. You can feel the history in your toes. This sculpture has always felt dramatic and empowering to me. I vividly remember seeing it for the first time when I was 16 and I like to visit it every time we are in Paris. It is an old friend at this point. Savannah liked this sculpture as well. Paintings were a bit of a challenge for her, but sculpture and architecture were totally her bag. According to her, this was her second favorite thing she saw at the Louvre. The first favorite is coming up.
