POTD | Petite Ecole graduation

Oh Petite Ecole, how we love you so.

It has been such an amazing Pre-K/Preschool experience for Savannah and us. There is something about this school that attracts a diverse, very ‘Austin’ crowd and I (and Savannah) am so glad that I have had the opportunity to meet these familes and kids. We love them SO much and are crushed that we won’t be with them all next year.

My child speaks French fluently and I had a peaceful feeling dropping her off each morning for two years. The teachers love her almost as much as we do and that feeling is worth more than gold.

The school is very good about making a big deal about milestones – birthdays are a day long celebration and graduation is awesome! The kids spend a month making ‘Goodbye books’ where they write a special page to each graduate. I will keep this graduation book forever – it’s so darling. The teacher says a bit about each student. (Savannah’s story was how she kept shouting ‘SPEAK ENGLISH!’ the first three weeks she was there) and there is a presentation of the book and a flower.

Then the kids sing a song and we have a potluck. LOVE. THIS. SCHOOL. If you are in Austin and want a safe and happy place for your children, I can’t recommend it enough.

Viva Petite Ecole!
